Whitney Houston would have turned 52 years old on August 9, 2015 if she had lived. Now a TV Movie is coming this January that celebrates her life and tells her story. The story chronicles Whitney Houston‘s rise to fame and her stormy relationship with husband Bobby Brown.
Directed by Angela Bassett
The movie is directed by 56 year old Angela Bassett, who co-stared with Whitney Houston in the 1995 blockbuster movie “Waiting to Exhale”. The cast includes some familiar and non-familiar actors. Key roles include Yaya DaCosta as Whitney Houston, Arlen Escarpeta as Bobby Brown, Yolanda Ross as Robyn Crawford, Suzanne Crawford as Cissy Houston, and Mark Rolston as Clive Davis.
Premieres January 17th on Lifetime
The movie will air Saturday, January 17, 2015 on Lifetime. Other characters portrayed in the movie includes Dionne Warwick, Bebe and Cece Winans, Eddie Murphy, Babyface, Gary Houston, and Pastor Marvin Winans.
